Greenland 2009 (West-East)

The expedition will start from the corner of the airport in Kangerlussuaq (in Sønderstrøm Fjord) and finish at a small village nearby Isortoq on the other side of the land.

Follow-up

Below are all the news we published about the Greenland 2009 (West-East) expedition

  • Injured ankle halts Elmont’s bid

    Published on 04.05.2009

Simon Elmont seriously injured his ankle on 27th April, which meant that the Channel Islanders were not able to continue their trek.

  • Change of plan

    Published on 27.04.2009

As soon as the two Channel Islanders arrived in Greenland, they changed their plans. They won't be doing a coast-to-coast crossing any longer, but just a short crossing of the icecap. The snow was just too bad. (And undoubtedly the challenge was too great for them!)
