Born in 1958, Gjersøe Gregers is living with his girl friend and 3 children. Ordinarily he is working as a pilot in SAS. His passion for the Polar Regions starts in 1995 when he visited the polar museum in Tromsø. He was completely absorbed by the adventure that surrounded the old polar explorers.

He is a simple guy as he said on his website: "I am not at all Superman, I am not especially macho and I am cold when I come out of the morning bath. But I have a strong urge to seek out adventure and make my dreams come true."

Major Achievements

  • 2000 - 2001: Together with Danish Kristian Joos, Gregers Gjersoe leaves Hercules Inlet on November 20th 2000 for a supported trip to South Pole. On January 13th 2001, after 55 days trek, team reaches South Pole claiming victory. It's the first time that an danish expedition reaches the South Pole.
  • 1999: Danish X Greenland Expedition 1999. A fantastic journey of 42 days, holding all that a crossing Greenland should hold: Lousy weather, low temperatures, magnificent nature, small and big challenges, drama and good fellowship.
