A Plane in the Sky

Published on 09.12.2011 - Cas & Jonesy : Crossing the Ice

Both Cas and Jonesy are feeling a lot better mentally. But they start to feel an extreme fatigue straining strongly their body during the day as well as when laying in the tent.

On 9 December, Justin Jones and James Castrission have seen a plane flying overhead. That does not seem much of course. A plane in the sky... But when you are already 39 days in an environment made of white on white day in and day out, when the concept of contrast between the colors does not exist anymore, when you have only ice and snow -and sastrugis of course- all around you and nothing else, even a small plane can take your mind off things. That's perhaps the reason why both Aussies have written on 9 December that they were feeling a lot better this week...

Be that as it may, they have some bad injuries. Justin has a suspected infection on his toes (and this is causins him some gief during the day when skiing as well as during the night when resting) and both guys are feeling sore in their lower backs and keep being quite exhausted at the end of the days.

On top of that, one of the two, James Castrission, has to help plan his wedding from the tent at night !
