At sea at last

Published on 01.01.2008 - The Larsen Iceshelf Expedition

The team from the Larsen Iceshelf expedition has gathered in Punta and has announced that it is about to depart.

With twelve crew members coming in from the four corners of the world, it took them a while to gather, but now they are finally all aboard Skip Noval's sailing ship, the Pelagic Australis.

Expedition leader, Jon Bowermaster, remembers when he met the legendary skipper Skip Novak for the first time, five years ago, and suggested they set out and sail the Antarctic Peninsula.

They are now ready for the big departure, scheduled sometime during the first few days of January.
