Everyday life out on the ice

Published on 22.12.2008 - SouthPole Quest

One by one, the three members of the expedition led by par Richard Weber are reporting back on the story of their daily routine.

"Ahhhummm we're in our winter wonderland right now and we start out each day with a breakfast of mashed potatoes, pemmican and coffee. And it is fantastic, it gives us all the energy we need. Plus we also have a special.... sandwich if you will, that's Richard's recipe and it's two pieces of Russian flat bread. Sandwiched inside is butter, peanut butter and macadamia nut butter."

Every day, we receive this or that detail about their clothing or the progress they are making.

At the present time, the three men are covering approximately twenty nautical miles a day, or 37 kilometres. There have been no details so far about where their schedule puts them in relation to the record they are attempting to beat.
