Glorious sunshine for Gamme

Published on 22.11.2011 - Antarctica 2011- 2012

Alexander Gamme is doing about 16 km a day. For the last three days, he has been helped by a good weather and a glorious sunshine.

Nothing much new coming from the Norwegian Aleksander Gamme. He is progressing smoothly, doing an average of about 15 to 16 km a day. On day 20, he has done 14 km, on day 21, 16 km and on day 22, 18 km.

On day 20 (19 November) though, Gamme gives us a special information about his dressing intimacy ! First, he tells us something quite important: he does not wear any underwear ! Fascinating... More : following Borge Ousland's advices (Ousland is taking some tourists this seaon to do the last two degrees), he wears only female nylon stockings. This helps to keep the skin of the upper part of the legs soft and without soreness. As he did not bring enough pairs from Norway, he had to buy some extra nylon stockings in Punta Arenas. But problem : as the chilean girls are smaller than the tall Norwegians like Gamme, he must stretch the stockings quite a bit everytime he puts them on. Will they last long ?

The following of this fascinating story in a few days probably...

Gamme has still another 850 km to go to reach the SP. He starts to think quite a lot about food and drinking a beer in a pub in town...
