Ultramarathon runner Pat Farmer has probably celebrated Christmas with his children and family. He is approaching the town of Freire in Chile. Punta Arenas is still far away...

The last position published on 21 December : 38.93713° S / 72.62348° W. Altitude: 103 m. Speed: 0 km/h. Heading: 0° .

He is not far from the city of Freire. Freire is a Chilean town and commune in Cautín Province, Araucanía Region. According to the 2002 census, the commune population was 25,514 and has an area of 935.2 km2 (361 sq mi).

As the town of Freire lies at the junction of Chile Highway 5 and the Route CH-199, which links Freire with Villarrica and Pucón, one can suppose that Farmer is now running on the bitumen of a chilean highroad.

Three days later, on 21 December, Farmer's Twitter said that he had run 87km and the next day, a short 49km so that he can celebrate Christmas with my kids and Australia. Merry Christmas!

But so far, we do not know yet how and when Aussie Pat Farmer is going to travel to the Antarctic.
