So far so good. Par Farmer is running a daily average of about 80 kilometers, which is a great performance in itself. But this time, something goes wrong because his toes are seriously infected. He has reached Perou though, his 12th country...

According to his almost daily dispatches published on Twitter, Pat Farmer has reached already the city of San Martin somewhere in Pérou. B

But few days ago, he had to enter an hospital because some of his toes were seriously infected. On the video published probably two weeks ago, one can clairly see white pus coming out of his nails. One can hear also the runner screeching with pain.

As the direct communicaton with expedition is quite poor, it's almost impossible to know wether Pat Farmer is continuing his trip or not.

He says he is now at the city of San Martin ; and yet this city is located far from his normal itinerary along the coast. So where is he exactly ? He did not say either where he has been cured, in what conditions and by whom -except that we know just looking at the doctors blouse that it was the people of the Cruz Roca Colombiana who if not  cured have taken care of the runner's toes.

Besides that, as the distances covered daily are nearly the only basic information we get, we know that he is nevertheless progessing fast. For instance, on 15, 16 and 17 October, he has covered succesively 90, 92 and 90.2 kilometers.
