Two gentlemen from Finland, Pete Makela (38) and Pete Vourenmaa (42), are going to attempt to cross Greenland from south to north. They will be doing so with the help of powerkites.

If the preparations proceed as planned, the two Finns should be leaving the little town of Narsarsuaq on 15 April and arrive at Qaanaaq on the northwest coast of the island – some 2,500 kilometres later- on or around 15 July.

The two men will be using powerkites in the hope of achieving an average of 30 kilometres per day. The expedition will not be resupplied en route.
