South Pole Solo 2006-2007

Starting in November 2006, Hannah McKeand will attempt to ski the 730 miles separating Hercules Inlet (80°S) from the South Pole, solo and unsupported. Before the expedition, Hannah will land at Patriot Hills early November and practice for two weeks on the ice. The plan is to set a new record and reach the Pole in around 40 days.
