Farmer will go to the Antarctic

Published on 22.12.2011 - Pole to Pole Run

These last days we did not have any news from the ultra marathon runner Pat Farmer. Finally, he came back to his Twitter page on 19 December, after 15 days absence.

At the time we hadn't no news from ultramarathon runner Pat Farmer, we wondered whether he would round his whole adventure up : to link both poles runing (and skiing) from one to the other.

But on 19 December, we got the answer : first he summarized his latest runs. 7/12 : 90km, 8/12 : 87km, 9/12 : 93km, 10/12 : 80km, 11/12 : 91km, 12/12 : 90km, 13/12 : 87km, 14/12 : 90km, 15/12 : 86km, 16/12 : 81km, 17/12 : 90km, 18/12 : 88km -a partridge in a pear tree!

Second, he was more positive later that day saying : "Ok Tweeters, sorry for the delay in my updates we've been frantically preparing for the South Pole but rest assured we are back on the grid!"

So even we are now certain that he will try the Hercules Inlet > South Pole trek, we still do not know from where (although Punta Arenas is the only gate to the Antarctic) and when he will travel from South America to Union Glacier ALE base camp.
