“The Polar Princess”

Published on 23.12.2009 - To the South Pole and beyond…

Ryan Waters is going on a bit about the fact that in an adventure of this kind, it's better to have a good-humoured expedition partner, which seems obviously to be the case with Cecilie Skog

Excerpts from Ryan Waters' blog (December 22nd) :

"It has been cold, windy and no visibility for several days on end. The kind of mornings that are a little tougher to motivate. That is when good teamates are nice to have! When you have ice hanging down from your face and beard and your balaclava is frozen solid, it is nice to have each other there to lighten the mood with good thoughts."

Ryan writes also : "Cecilie is great at this. She got the name "Polar Princess" on past expeditions. I think it must have something to do with her being able to feel even a stray peanut on the floor under her sleeping pad... guess she really is a princess after all. For me, she is the good partner that can tell if it is a hard day and says "Only two days till Christmas, lets have a great day . ..."
