  • 2 July / This catamaran, with a central overstructure, dwarfs our Corsair 31 trimaran. She is exceptionally agile and has a draught of less than 40 cm.

  • 3 July / The rumours are not exaggerated – the waters of Northern Norway really are teeming with fish. Today this herring jumped right into our boat!
  • 4 July / 19.00: The Lofoten Islands are within view, their jagged peaks towering above the mist.
  • 4 July / 17.00: We made a brief stop at Manshausen, an island near Nordskot in Steigen Municipality.
  • 7 July / The many shipwrecks are a grim reminder that sailors here venture into dangerous waters. Sudden storms have claimed many a vessel.
  • 7 July / Passing Hurtigruten’s coastal steamer by Andøya.
  • 7 July / The highest of the rugged Lyngen Alps, near Tromsø, tower 1833 metres above sea level.
  • 7 July / Yesterday – Thorleif taking time out for dinner, expedition style.
