  • Unfortunately, the morning's fine weather didn't last. A white mist invaded the terrain. Are we still on land? Today, we saw our first bird.
  • The sun is not very generous and the terrain remains pretty difficult and even quite heterogeneous.
  • From time to time, we enjoy some lovely moments such as this one during the afternoon.
  • Nevertheless, it is better when we can actually see something and when the terrain clears up a little.
  • Nothing changes. Everyday we have to confront some terrible areas. Today, however, we had fewer of them.
  • This morning of May 28th, we set out in the sun, but the sledge doesn't really seem to like it very much. Maybe it's just not used to it.
  • Dixie crosses a small lead using my sledge as a bridge.
  • We never or rarely have any peace: there is always an obstacle through which we must pull the beast. The worst is that it does not always go where we want it to go.
  • Doing the ESA work, whether the weather is bad or whether we've been progressing for 11 hours.
  • We're resigned to it. And we laugh a lot at all the difficulties that we encounter. It's better like this, don't you think?
  • Yesterday, we started the ESA measurements beside the tent in complete fog.
  • Always down to business, even though I'm much more careful than before because my left knee has something wrong with it. Over here, we're at the mercy of any little thing at all times, and anything can go wrong very quickly. But the determination is there
  • This is the movement we do to get across a small lead at least forty times a day.

  • After ten hours of walking, we're really glad to get inside the tent again, especially since the daily brushing is from now on limited to just doing our boots.
  • Despite the fact that we are getting closer to the coast, the ice conditions remain very bad.

  • Threading through these slabs of ice can sometimes be a real tracking game.
  • For several days now, the ice has been cracking all over.
  • On this type of terrain, we should never be too far away from each other.
