Finnish Teemu Lakkasuo is trying to trek from Hercules Inlet to South Pole. Solo and unsupported.

Lakkasuo is an adventurer who specialises in solo treks, but until now he has not ventured into the polar regions. So, for his first experience out on the Antarctic ice, he will be taking the route from Hercules Inlet to the South Pole.

Part of his equipment is reported to include ultra-sophisticated transmitting gear. It will be able to pinpoint his position on the ice, virtually live.
