Teemu Lakkasuo reaches the Pole

Published on 22.12.2008 - The Finnish SP Solo Expedition

It has been a rather downbeat end to Teemu's expedition since he was hoping for so much more from his journey.

Having struggled even while completing just this Last Degree to the Pole, Teemu Lakkasuo finally arrived at the Amundsen Scott base on 15th December, where he received a warm welcome.

Five days later, a Twin Otter flew in to take him back to Patriot Hills. Like everyone whose polar adventure has come to an end, Teemu wants to get back to Punta Arenas as soon as possible. Unfortunately the weather conditions are terrible for the moment and it is a fairly safe bet that there will be a lot of people round the table to celebrate Christmas at Patriot Hills this year.
