"We can't do any more than we're doing already," explained Alain. "In the evening, we're worn out, and then, we can't take risks. We'll have to wait for better terrain, we're on good form, but this first part of the expedition is exhausting. Here the light is always pretty extraordinary and we've taken a fair number of photographs. Dixie is treating my fingers, and, in the morning, he smokes his little pipe before starting the day, and that smells nice.. Our morale is excellent."
